About Us

Opportunitygrowshere.nz is a campaign managed by the Ministry for Primary Industries with support from industry groups in the primary sector. Its goal is to attract job seekers and career changers into jobs and training in the primary industries.

There’s a diverse range of roles and careers available in many industries right now, including seasonal roles, immediate jobs, and longer-term careers.

Some opportunities in wine, forests, fisheries, horticulture, food production, aquaculture, and farms require no experience or provide on the job training. Some roles lie just outside our main urban centres.

There are also a variety of training providers offering education options ranging from short taster courses to longer-term learning.
